D & J Cole Joinery

D & J Cole Joinery was formed in June 1979 by David and Julie Cole.

David's previous experience was with another local Specialist Joinery Manufaturer where he achieved General Manager status before embarking on his present career.

He completed a four year apprenticeship in Joinery Manufacture at Newbury College of Further Education with the following qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Part One Pass
  • City & Guilds Part Two Pass
  • Construction Technicians Part One Pass with Distinction

Sliding box sash window - all sashes open, built to traditional design with weights & pulleysDavid Cole is responsible for marketing, assisting in estimating and invoicing - ably assisted by Julie. Steve Cole (son) is responsible for estimating, ordering and overseeing the day to day running of the Joinery Shop. Maria Cole (daughter) runs the reception office, typing, computer work etc.

Once orders are placed, Steve Cole completes all necessary drawings and material lists and obtains any approvals which may be required.

These then pass on to the workshop floor through the Mill Foreman and so into production

All our joinery is manufactured in best quality softwood and hardwood from sustainable forests.

In 1982 due to increasing orders for supply and fix of High Class Joinery items, a separate department within the company (D & J Cole Contractors) was formed, with the appropriate selected specialists to carry out these contracts.

In the past, the company has supplied/supplied and fitted Joinery on many contracts, some of the more notable being:-
